Welcome to the AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Application Site!
The AGC Education and Research Foundation (AGCERF) is happy to invest in the future of the construction industry by awarding scholarships to deserving students in construction management and engineering programs across the country. In 2011, 100 scholarships were awarded through the generosity of our donor-supported funds. The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year and can be renewed for up to three years. For graduate students, the awards are $3,750 for up to two years. In addition, seniors should check our Awards page for the James L. Allhands Essay Competition which awards the winner $1,000 and an expense-paid trip to the AGC Annual Convention in March, 2012.
Applications must be submitted by November 3rd, 2011 9:00 am EST and are for the 2012-13 academic year beginning in September, 2012. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be notified in late January, 2012. The next step is an interview with a contractor in your area. Following the interview, scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in March 2012. Scholarships will be awarded in July 2012.
To apply, you must complete an application online. There are several important things to remember:
- You must meet the criteria to apply as an undergraduate or graduate.
- Make sure that your evaluators (one teacher and one employer) know that you are requesting their recommendation and check back with them to ensure the recommendation has been submitted.
