Permanent U.S. Resident is an immigration term for non-US residents that live in the United States. Permanent U.S. residents are required to submit a proof of permanent residency in order to complete the Application.

Undergraduate Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicant MUST be:
    1. A second-year student at a two year school who is planning to transfer to a four-year program for the Fall 2013 term, OR; 
    2. A college freshman, sophomore or junior in a four or five-year program, OR; 
  2. Applicant MUST have one full academic year of coursework remaining after the Fall, 2012 term.
  3. Applicant MUST desire a career in the construction industry.
  4. Applicant MUST be a full-time student.
  5. Applicant MUST be enrolled or intend to enroll in either an ABET or an ACCE accredited program or candidate status.
  6. Applicant MUST pursue a B.S. degree in construction or construction-related engineering. A dual degree with construction or construction-related engineering as one part is acceptable.
  7. Applicant MUST be a U. S. citizen or documented permanent resident of the United States (i.e., must possess a "permanent resident" card).
  8. Applicant MUST have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or better.

Graduate Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicant MUST be:
    1. A college senior enrolled in an ABET- or ACCE-accredited (or candidate status) construction or civil engineering program; OR 
    2. A person possessing an undergraduate construction or civil engineering degree from such an accredited program.
  2. Applicant MUST be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student in a construction graduate degree program or a part-time student in one of AGC's recognized masters' or doctoral programs for the Fall term of 2013.
  3. Applicant MUST also have at least one full academic year remaining after the Fall semester of 2012, i.e., at least two more semesters.
  4. Applicant MUST be a U.S. citizen or documented permanent resident of the U. S. (i.e., must possess a "permanent resident" card).
Preparing your Application

Application Reminders

  • Please complete ALL sections of the application.
  • All application fields are REQUIRED unless otherwise noted.
  • All required supporting documentation (transcripts, test scores, course lists etc.) must be submitted online with your application. If you are unable to upload a copy of your transcript, you may mail it to us at the address provided. It is preferred, however, that the transcript be part of your electronic submission to avoid confusion. 
  • Two (2) personal evaluations are required with your application, one from a faculty member or advisor and one from an employer. You will need their email addresses to complete that part of your application.The evaluators will be notified to complete the evaluation but you are responsible for ensuring that this gets done. Your application will not be considered complete until we receive both evaluations and you have submitted the complete application.
  • Your evaluators will be given a grace period through November 8 to submit evaluations.  You must complete your application by midnight on November 1, after which no edits can be made to your application EXCEPT for this step.  Evaluators may still log in, you may remove your evaluator and enter a new name.  HOWEVER, ALL EVALUATIONS MUST BE IN BY NOVEMBER 8.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.  Once the evaluation has been submitted, you may log in to your application and click on the SUBMIT button to complete the application process.  
  • Appearance, completeness, spelling and grammar WILL BE CONSIDERED during evaluation.

  • Completed applications are due no later than midnight EST on November 1, 2012.
  • Your application is not considered submitted until all sections are complete, evaluations have been submitted and you hit the Submit button when prompted.
